New Job

I just accepted a job offer. I've been looking for a while and entertaining several offers. The consulting lifestyle just wasn't going to work any longer. So, I will be working for PA Health. They manage a couple hundred physician practices. It's a brand new position, great pay, and right here in Pasadena. Check out the web site - particularly their annual report (you'll see why i'm excited).

I start Nov. 27th. You are absolutely right about the commute Wray. Pasadena is 30-40 min from our house and it's a nice place to be so it will be cool.

What is your job title, Jim? I can really identify with your excitment about working closer to home ... would love to give up my 1.25 hour commute (not as bad as yours). Pasadena is the first place I went to (besides LAX) when I flew to CA the first time. I visited Mom's Aunt Vera and her cousin, whose last name is Pappas, I think. Anyway, it was a very pleasant place to spend time. Congrats!

My official title will be Manager of HCC/EMR Projects. HCC is a Medicare billing modality and EMR is electronic medical records. They want me to bring together the EMR that they are deploying with the new Medicare billing rules and their quality management program with an emphasis on statistical process control and capturing reimbursement. All stuff I like to do. I'm really excited.

I really like pasadena. Probably because it has so many great resturants. Good thing I cant afford to live there - I'd probably be 600 lbs.
